National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) felt the need for a focused initiative to provide nutrition support through milk to children from weaker sections, during its Golden Jubilee year 2015-16, the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition (NFN) was set up on 9th October, 2015. NFN is promoted by the NDDB, its subsidiaries (Indian Immunologicals Limited ,IDMC Limited , Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetables Private Limited) and Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation.

NFN is registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and as a Trust under the Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act, 1950 as applicable to the state of Gujarat. NFN was registered in October 2015 at Anand, Gujarat.

Our Mission

“NFN would strive to contribute towards eradication of malnutrition in school children by providing them safe and nutritious products”.

Major Objectives:

To provide nutrition support to children through nutritious products to eradicate malnutrition.

To promote consumption of milk and milk products including fortified milk & milk products.

We seek to create awareness on malnutrition, promote intake of nutritious products and consumption of a healthy diet. In this pursuit, we raise funds and accept donations, grants of money, securities property of any kind from sources those are conducive to the promotion of the objectives of the society.

We receive funds under Corporate Social Responsibility obligations of companies as listed out in Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013 as amended from time to time for the purpose of providing nutrition support to children. Every single rupee you invest in our programme has the potential to take a child out of the cycle of malnutrition and illness.

Constitution

The NFN Trust is registered u/s 12AA of IT Act 1961. Registration no. is AACTN 2526N/751/15-16/T-1044/12 AA dated 03.03.2016. NFN is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with Registration Number Guj/1743/Anand and as a Trust under the Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act, 1950 with Registration Number F/1699/Anand.

The NFN Trust has been granted approval u/s 80G (5) of IT Act 1961. Registration no. is AACTN 2526N/486/15-16/T-767/80G (5) dated 03.03.2016. Donations made to the Trust or Institution shall qualify for deduction u/s 80G (5) of IT Act 1961.

As per the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Notification dated, 23rd May 2016 - Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Amendment Rules, 2016, in rule 4, for sub rule (2), the following sub rule shall be substituted:

The Board of a company may decide to undertake CSR activities approve by the CSR committee, through – a company established under section 8 of the act or a registered trust or a registered society, established by the Central Government or State Government or any entity established under Act of parliament or State Legislature.

The donations to NFN were exempted under CSR before completion of three years of its operation by Company Amendment Rules, 2016 as it is founded by NDDB which is established under an act of parliament.

The NFN Society / Trust also has CSR-1 registration number as per the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India for getting Corporate Social Responsibility funding is CSR00004168.
